Academy Timings
Before you apply to be a peer mentor for the Tuskegee BUILDERS Academy, make sure you meet the following criteria:
- Be a U.S. citizen, national or permanent resident.
- Have been a participant in the 2017 or 2018 BUILDERS Academy
- Have maintained a High School GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Be available to attend the BUILDERS Academy daily.
- Be willing to assist new teams with research, project development, and prototype design/construction.
Benefits of Being a Peer Mentor
- Gain valuable leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- Each peer mentor will receive a stipend of $400 per week for a maximum of $1,200 for the full Academy.
- Stipends will be released at the end of the Academy contingent upon completion of all Academy activities.
Academy Timings
- The Academy will be held at Tuskegee University June 10 - 28, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 2:30 pm.
- School buses will provide transportation to and from the Academy. Pickup and drop off arrangement will be discussed upon selection as a peer mentor Academy.
- Lunch and snacks will be provided as part of the Academy daily activities.
